How to Start Winning

Eph 6:11  Put on1746 the3588 whole armor3833 of God,2316 that ye5209 may be able1410 to stand2476 against4314 the3588 wiles3180 of the3588 devil.1228

Eph 6:11  Put on the full armor of God in order [for] you* to be able to stand firm against the tricks [or, cunning schemes] of the Devil.

Schemes (methodeia = Methodists) cunning acts, deceit, or crafty. This illustrates that Satan is the master of deception, illusion and lying. There is an implication of struggle (pale) which refers to hand to hand combat. The principles of warfare (Philippians 3:8) are the issue here:

·        Objective – to progressively win the angelic conflict everyday.

·        Offensive – to continually advance in the plan of God daily in order to win

·        Concentration (Phil. 3:13) the massive of force for decisive action focusing the mind, energy and everything on the objective, even when it necessitate to narrow down your lifestyle.

·        Economy of forces – the knowledge and skills of using the available materials on hand. It is not a call for the believer to wrestle with the devil or with the world but to rest in faith. God uses small things – in God’s hand, nothing is insignificant.

·        Mobility – is the combination of speed + flexibility + ease + poise. This is a walk by the Spirit, a walk by the Spirit, a walk of love, a walk in the light.

·        Cooperation – treason is unwilling to respond to the call of duty, to comply to certain demands of your country in time of war.

·        Security –is in the love of God (Rom. 8:32-39, Jude 21)

·        Surprise the enemy –

·        Communication with the GHQ

·        Pursuit of the enemy – Satan’s sense of timing seems perfect but it is not – only God’s timing is perfect.

Decision in the Christian life is execution of Bible doctrine into life’s application. The Lord Jesus Christ controls human history. The angelic conflict is being fought in the souls of believers. Everyday we make vital decisions that:

  • Choose the will of God
  • Choose the will of God

Every person has an allotment time of trouble with deliverance and solution. A person’s allotted time which includes certain amount of problems and sufferings –certain amount of remedy and deliverance is a regulated testing. Some principles related to crisis:

  • Crisis always involved controlled –regulated testing. Satan may jump over the barrier or hedge that God has installed but He will never allow the devil beyond the divine limitation.
  • Every crisis forces us to make right decision. Adversity is design to show us what we are inside.
  • Crisis forces decision and every decision we face the option of choosing good and evil.
  • Every decision involves elements of past decisions.
  • Today we make decisions, tomorrow our decision make us.

In every crisis there are 2 wills that works:

  • The sovereign will of God
  • The changeable will of God

There are 2 decisions that we make that have effect on earth and human history:

  • Bad decision
  • Good decision

We are product of our decision. Decisions are what make the will, from which we make decisions. From the mental attitude comes the will, will become decision, decisions become pattern, pattern becomes trends, trends become habit, habit become character.

Job 1:4-5  And his sons1121 went1980 and feasted6213, 4960 in their houses,1004 every one376 his day;3117 and sent7971 and called7121 for their three7969 sisters269 to eat398 and to drink8354 with5973 them. And it was1961 so, when3588 the days3117 of their feasting4960 were gone about,5362 that Job347 sent7971 and sanctified6942 them, and rose up early7925 in the morning,1242 and offered5927 burnt offerings5930 according to the number4557 of them all:3605 for3588 Job347 said,559 It may be194 that my sons1121 have sinned,2398 and cursed1288 God430 in their hearts.3824 Thus3602 did6213 Job347 continually.3605, 3117

Job 3:25  For3588 the thing which I greatly feared6343, 6342 is come upon857 me, and that which834 I was afraid of3025 is come935 unto me.

Satan sense of timing seems perfect – it seems that he is making the right move at the right time –but he is not. Satan is just like a thief that waits for the right opportunity. He waited for the grand party of Job’s children – merry making. Satan wanted Job to have mixed emotion of fear, anger and guilt.

  • Guilt for the sins of his children
  • Anger toward God for killing his children, servants and animals
  •  Fear for his life

Satan wanted all the disasters to bring fear and guilt upon Job. Every fear we nurse in our lives gives the enemy a workshop to create his plan. Evidence testing guarantees to be the worst possible time in your life. Satan always seeks to disrupt condition of peace and happiness because he hates us all.

  • He hates the believers who have inner peace and happiness.
  • He hates all the believers even without inner peace and happiness.
  • He hates all the unbelievers (naturally w/o inner peace & happiness)

Inner peace in the believer is the greatest evidence of divine power. It manifests the presence of God and His power. Note the:

  • The environment of peace (Phil 1:2)
  • The formula of peace ((Phil. 3:13-14)
  • The practice of peace ((Phil 4:6-7, 11-13)

Seven disciplines that produces peace:

  • By faith learn to accept life unconditionally as God’s perfect plan for you (1 Thess. 3:3, 5:18)
  • By faith live in conscious fellowship with God (1 John 1:7)
  • By faith keep short sin accounts with God
  • By faith trust the power of God through doctrinal prayer
  • By faith rest in the promises of God
  • By faith seek the word of God daily
  • By faith see the eternal purpose of God in your life’s trials.

What is the best way to make historical impact? Slow down and do the very thing that trouble Satan most – rest in the Lord. Everything God does in our lives comes from resting in the Lord. Satan is trying to destroy the peace in our soul by throwing terrible situation. To maintain spiritual poise under pressure takes a lot of toughness and strength of your soul. Satan applies three principles related to destroying his enemies:

When a servant (the one Satan left to bring shock and fear upon Job) reported that they… “slew the servants” (meaning violently attacking everyone – Job 1:13, 22), Satan was trying to raise fear upon Job. Satan uses violence to shock the believers.

Notice the phrase while he was still speaking” – troubles come in package. Satan seldom sends one piece of trouble alone –he sends multiple –one after the other in rapid succession. He knows the shock of multiple blows. The army has the same principle: never fire at the target only once.

Satan loves to send calamity that looks as if it were an act of God. Notice the phrase “the fire of God” is actually a fire from Satan but mistaken by carnal believer and unbeliever as fire from God. The reversionists have not capacity and ability to seen the truth of God. The spiritual war is fought in the soul while the believer is in the physical world. All natural calamities are the result of creation being out of balance with the Creator. The creation out of harmony with God results to natural calamity.

Satan wants to malign the character of God through the mouth of God’s own children (Job 2:1-6). The majority of believers is without Bible doctrine and therefore is irritable against other believers, always complaining and murmuring just about anything. These believers have no spiritual integrity. Spiritual integrity refuses to blame God for the things that happened to him.

The Lord told Satan, “You incited Me against him to destroy him without cause” (there is no reason for divine discipline since Job was living the mature spiritual life inside the plan of God).

Whenever you say, “This is not fair”, you are becoming a witness for Satan. You are following his ideology and system of good and evil. There is no truce in the spiritual warfare, everyday is a battle, everyday we have the option to win glory for the Lord or glory for ourselves. The phrase press on” (dioko) means to pursue, to set aside as priority. To “press on” phrase on has two meaning:

  • We have to keep pressing on – not minding the barriers and hindrances
  • We have to live 0ne-day at a time

Satan wants God to destroy His own children (Job 2:6). After the faulty reasoning of Satan, God told the devil, “He is in your power” which means five important principles.

  • The testing of Satan is only for a limited period of time – no extra minute is ignored by the Lord.
  • The testing of Satan has limited intensity – he cannot hit beyond what is allowed.
  • The testing of Satan has limited effect or results.
  • The testing of Satan has limited types of adversity allowed.
  • The testing of Satan is limited to the believer’s property, people (loved ones, servants and friends) human power and prosperity (Job 2:7-10).

Our objective is to think in the unity of divine viewpoint. The only way to advance spiritually is by thinking Bible doctrine, not by doing human good work. God is far more concerned with our concentration on Bible doctrine. Our responsibility is to think Bible doctrine with concentration and not to aspire to do great things for God.

The satanic deception here is on the emotion, however in the spiritual life, how we feel is never an issue. Mental attitude refers to the function of human thought. Your mental attitude is what you think at any given time. It is the though content of your soul which God views as the real you. It is the thinking of the soul that becomes the battleground in the angelic conflict. It is the thinking of the soul that becomes the battleground in the angelic conflict. The life of every Church age believer has to do with his thinking, not with what he is doing.

The life of Church age believer is determined by 2 principles:

  • What one thinks
  • What one decides

These principles work with each other not separately. A mental attitude of divine viewpoint – the thinking of God, is a part of the greatest delegation of divine power in the entire human history. It is the power of divine viewpoint in the right lobe. Ignorance of God’s plan is the result of lack of concern for the thought pattern. Those who failed in divine viewpoint lifestyle are under the two common problems of satanic policy:

  • The lust of the have not
  • The dissatisfaction of those who have not

Satan loves to recruit the people you love to destroy you. Satan has a job for every reversionist like Mrs. Job whom Job “nebalah”. Job told held, you speak like a foolish woman (that is nebalah- meaning to fade, to wither – someone who has withered all the positive volition toward God).

The reversionists:

  • Want Nothing but blessing and prosperity
  • Can only complain, murmur and make a lot of noise in adversity
  • Does not understand their role in the angelic conflict
  • Cannot accept that faith is the victory
  • Cannot understand that all human history boils down to individual personal decision.

Suffering is part of the Christian life. There are 2 ways to suffer in the world:

  • Suffering under divine discipline and the freewill decision
  1. accept it –then suffering becomes a teaching aid that helps
  2. ignore it – it becomes unbearable
  3. reject it  - it leads to sin unto death
  • Suffering for blessing – all bearable, it accelerates the believers. It opens opportunity to more blessings

Unnecessary suffering due to execution of divine discipline is preventable by motivation to learn Bible doctrine. Motivation to learn Bible doctrine is acquired by the grace of God, it is accelerated by application of doctrine and motivation is accomplished only by the grace of God (Jeremiah 29:13, John 7:117).

The Lord executes the sin unto death when the believer had a prolonged stayed in the cosmos diabolicus –prolonged residence, operation and advancement in the cosmic system and rejection of God’s plan of grace. The essence of reversionism is being independent (being separated, divorced) from God.

Philippians 3:19  whose end [is] destruction, whose god [is] the belly [fig., their appetite] and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who set their minds on the [things] of the earth.

Appetite is koilia which is referring to emotion. Whose god is their emotion. The emotion becomes your god whenever it dictates your thinking, decision and action. Emotion as:

  • Definition is the appreciator of the soul – it appreciates whatever thoughts are in the soul.
  • Directive is the responder to the right lobe – it responds to whatever thought are in the souls. It has no ability to love.
  • Dominion is designed to be under the right lobe

Emotional revolt of the soul (EROTS) exists when a virtue is produce in the wrong place. For example, whenever love is produced in emotion. Take note that emotion resides in the mentality. Whenever the emotion rules the life of a person, his life manufactures self-induced miseries. God designed our life to be enjoyable through our emotion by putting it under the control of the right lobe. Disaster starts when emotion become the criteria for life.

Human volition commits:

  • Sin of cognizance – it recognizes the temptation, but willing to do it and continue to do so
  • Sin of ignorance – not being aware of the temptation, has the desire to do and follow through to doing it

The emotion becomes god to the believer when it abnormally rules the mentality giving way to neurosis and psychosis. The mentality has everything needed to control the emotion. The emotion is empty, hollow, containing no Bible doctrine, no common sense or ability to reason from rational and factual things.

2 Ways distractions of the reversionists:

  • Subjective arrogance by creating a role model then destroying it
  • Distracted by others through the function of legalism

4 Reflection of doctrinal concentration:

  • The values in your life
  • Your motivation in life
  • Your mental attitude in life
  • Your spiritual status quo

5 Categories of emotional complex of sins

  • Hysteria: fear, worry, anxiety, panic, confusion, garbage in the subconscious
  • Hatred: hate, anger, bitterness, jealousy, loathing, animosity, malice, vengeance

Categories of personal sins:

  • Mental attitude sins – motivational sins based on thought
